Dr. Kestur Gundappa Satyanarayana, born on October 8, 1942, in Kestur, Tumkur district, Karnataka, is an accomplished scientist with a background in physics and metallurgical engineering. He earned his B.Sc. from the University of Mysore in 1963, M.Sc. from the University of Bangalore in 1965, and a Ph.D. in Physics-Metallurgical Engineering from Banaras Hindu University in 1972.
