Assoc Prof Dr Abdullah Makhzoum: plant biotechnology | AgriInnovator Excellence Award
Associate Professor at BIUST University, Botswana
Keletso Lashani, a Canadian citizen, recently completed his Master’s degree in Biological Sciences and Biotechnology under the mentorship of Professor Abdullah Makhzoum at the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST). His research focused on the isolation and identification of lipids and metabolites responsible for age-defying properties in wild berries indigenous to Botswana. Using advanced techniques such as LC-MS and GC-MS, Keletso delved into the biochemical composition of these berries, aiming to unravel their potential benefits for human health.
