Mr. Mekuainnt Tebkew Asres is an Assistant Professor of Forestry and Agroforestry, currently pursuing his PhD. He holds an MSc in Agroforestry and Soil Management from Hawassa University and a BSc in Natural Resource Management from Wolaita Sodo University. Beginning his academic career as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Gondar in 2010, he later pursued his graduate studies before returning to teach a range of courses including Agroforestry Systems, Climate Change Mitigation, and Biodiversity Conservation. Mr. Mekuainnt has served in various capacities, including as an officer at the Climate Change Research Center and as Coordinator of the Soil Science MSc program. He has played a significant role in launching MSc and PhD programs and has mentored numerous students. With a keen interest in team-based research, his areas of expertise include Agroforestry, Climate Change, Soil Fertility, Biodiversity, and Livelihood Resilience. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and is currently engaged in a project focusing on building livelihood resilience in Northwestern Ethiopia.
