Dr. Ghadeer Alkhedir Ahmed’s research journey encompasses a diverse range of studies. Her Bachelor’s thesis (2015) delved into the isolation and characterization of bacterial strains, exploring their proficiency in degrading gasoline—an endeavor vital for environmental sustainability. In her M.Sc. research (2019), she focused on the fungal communities in the rhizosphere and endosphere of the desert shrub, Encelia farinosa, investigating their responses to drought stress. Her ongoing work involves metagenomic analysis of the fungal community within the desert shrub, employing Next Generation Sequencing—a crucial step towards understanding microbial ecosystems in arid environments. 🌱🦠🚗
