Mariel Gullian Klanian is a Mexican national born on August 5, 1968, in Montevideo, Uruguay. She currently resides in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. As of December 2023, Mariel holds the position of Professor-Investigator Titular D at the Universidad Marista de Mérida (UMM) since 2007. She also serves as an Investigador Nacional Nivel SNI II in the area of Biotecnología y Agricultura for the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores – Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT), Mexico. Mariel has an extensive academic background, earning her Doctorate in Ciencias, Especialidad Ciencias del Mar from CINVESTAV, Mexico, in 2009. She has also pursued additional academic training, including specializations in HACCP and Microbiología e Inocuidad alimentaria.

Guy Simbeko is a Congolese economist and financial analyst with a passion for agricultural development. Born on September 30, 1991, he holds a Masters in Financial Management, Agribusiness, and Small and Medium Enterprises from the Catholic University of Bukavu (UCB), where he also completed his undergraduate studies in Agricultural Economics.Guy has a diverse professional background, showcasing his expertise in monitoring, evaluation, and learning. Currently, he serves as the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, focusing on the agricultural transformation agenda in the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s South Kivu Province.
