Mariel Gullian Klanian is a Mexican national born on August 5, 1968, in Montevideo, Uruguay. She currently resides in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. As of December 2023, Mariel holds the position of Professor-Investigator Titular D at the Universidad Marista de Mérida (UMM) since 2007. She also serves as an Investigador Nacional Nivel SNI II in the area of Biotecnología y Agricultura for the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores – Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT), Mexico. Mariel has an extensive academic background, earning her Doctorate in Ciencias, Especialidad Ciencias del Mar from CINVESTAV, Mexico, in 2009. Prior to his doctoral studies, he earned an M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from Sokoine University (Tanzania) in August 1992 and a B.Sc. in Agricultural Rural Economy in November 1987.Prof. HELLA has been associated with Sokoine University of Agriculture since October 1994, where he currently serves as an Associate Professor in Agricultural Economics & Agribusiness.
