Born on June 25, 1969, in Wellega, Ethiopia, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Asmara University, Eritrea (1989), a Master’s degree in Applied Microbiology from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia (1999), and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, SLU, Sweden (2007).
